About This Game

Description:

Quartet Switch NSP is an exquisitely presented turn-based RPG from Something Classic, featuring four unique characters with their own compelling stories, and an unmissable experience on Nintendo Switch. The game is set to arrive on the Switch on May 12, 2026, and will be a masterpiece of pixel

art, yet it will also feature a well-developed and fully intertwined storyline, and be a very strategic combat game. In handheld mode it’s made for any quick adventure, or connected to a larger screen for more cinematic moments, Quartet Switch NSP offers a sleek, responsive experience that’s perfect for Nintendo’s hybrid console. Overall, the game is well-designed and offers a captivating gameplay loop that is one of the reasons for its immense popularity in the games.

Quartet Switch NSP Gameplay:

Quartet features a well-balanced turn-based combat system which combines tactical positioning with extensive character customization. Every one of the four protagonists starts the game with specific skills, and as players advance new skills, passive traits and equipment can be unlocked, which can change the way they fight in battle, from frontline tank to elemental mage to agile scout.

The grid-based movement system encourages the player to think carefully about how he moves, what terrain bonuses he can take advantage of, and the elemental reactions he can use, so that it is never a dull game. The Switch has two controllers, Pro Controller and Joy Con, both of which provide a great response time and have intuitive button mapping for swapping abilities and navigating menus. Some actions are available through touch input to provide convenience for handheld play, but touch isn’t a main input method in the game.

In addition to combat, Quartet offers a great progression system with stats that can be improved through various items, crafting recipes, and side missions that further the main story. The game lets players take on a new or different character at any point during the battle, even after the game has started, so they can experiment with different abilities to turn things around in difficult fights. There is a difficulty option ranging from casual to expert, and a “Iron Mode” option that does not allow mid-battle saves.

The Switch’s suspend/resume option has also proved to be a great feature here, allowing players to pause the action without losing any progress and which works well with the game’s story-driven nature. Plus, there’s a New Game+ option, where players can import some of the game’s progress and also unlock extra content, such as special cosmetics based on old fashioned RPGs.

Quartet Switch NSP Features:

  • Episodic Structure: This differs from a long opening where you’ve to finish the entire game, as the game contains 4 shorter chapters on its origin of which you can play in any order, each 2-3 hours long.
  • Playable Cast: 8 playable heroes in different pairs and societies with different beliefs about the use of magic.
  • As the game progresses: The stories intersect, allowing you to delve into the characters and the lore of the world before they come together in the game.
  • Action Point (AP) System: Combat is more about resource management and less about grinding.
  • Reserve Swapping: 4 characters are active and 4 characters are reserve characters under the control of the players. You can bring in rested characters with swap to take turn immediately to keep heavy attacks going,
