You can probably imagine hearing the ball whizz through the air and smack a kid right in the face just by looking at a picture of one.

Dodgeball is one of those experiences that almost everyone has to grow up and learn just how much pain you can take. I learned at a young age that pain wasn’t really my thing. It’s a shame that in most video games, the dodgeball mini-game is one of the best examples of dodgeball. Luckily, Dodgeball Academia is out to change that. Its RPG-style gameplay takes dodgeball and makes it even better.

Gameplay:

A universe dedicated to dodgeball. The story kicks off when dodgeball enthusiast Otto enters the academy. By the first day, he can touch a ball thrown by a player so great that his throw must have turned the ball into a nuclear generator.

Otto can touch a ball that so many other great dodgeball players have touched to gain powers. The dodgeball school is not all magic, though (pun intended). Dodgeball Academy hasn’t produced any great players in a while and is becoming permanently closed. To avoid disbanding the school, the dodgeball academy must have great players to represent their school in this year’s tournament.
