Ys X: Nordics is a 2023 action role-playing game developed by Nihon Falcom. It is a title in the Ys series, published in Japan for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Nintendo Switch in September 2023, and globally by NIS America, along with a PC version, in October 2024. The game is about Adol Christin, who just happens to bump into seafaring warrior Karja Balta and the war between the Normans and monsters called the Griegr.

There was an enhanced version, Ys X: Proud Nordics, released in Japan for Nintendo Switch 2 in July 2025 and worldwide in February 2026, fr PlayStation 5 and Windows systems. Ys theXX: Nordics is the tenth installment in the Ys series, developed by Nihon Falcom and released on September 28, 2023, in Japan, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch platforms. An English-language version was released on all four platforms by NIS America on October 25, 2024, along with a French-language version, with the Windows release coming out in Asian markets on March 14, 2024.

Ys X Nordics NSP Gameplay:

Unlike previous installments, such as Ys Seven (2009), Ys: Memories of Celceta (2012), Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Ana (2016) and Ys IX: Monstrum Nox (2019), Ys X: Nordics is a role-playing game with only two characters to play.

It will be released globally by NIS America for both platforms, MS and PS5, on February 20th, 2,026 and a PS5 version will be launched in Japan on February 19th, 2026.[4][5] New character abilities, bosses,s and levels are added by Proud Nordics.[8]

Ys X Nordics NSP Key Features:

• Two Heroes, One Story: You have only two heroes to control, Adol and Karja, as opposed to the normal party-based system. Fated to work together, they will be forced to combat the Griegers—the undead monsters that rule the Obelia Gulf.
• Adol/Karja: You can switch to Adol, Karja, or “Dual Mode” (playing both characters side by side)
• The first time in the series, command a sailing ship, the Sandras, in Sailor’s Delight (Naval Combat & Exploration). Players navigate through islands, have exciting naval battles against opposing fleets, and discover Underwater treasures.
• The Power of Mana: This game has special “Mana Actions”, which let you move and manipulate the environment. Use a grappling hook (Mana Strings), glide over water with a Grimble Board,d or launch elemental attacks (Adol = Fire, Karja = Ice) to solve puzzles and destroy obstacles.
• Release Line Progression: The game features a skill tree system, spending Mana Points to unlock and customize individual skills and passive stat boosts for both characters.
