If you’re not a big fan of the open-world Sonic Frontiers, then Sonic X Shadow Generations looks like the Sonic game you don’t want to miss out on these days. Before I enter that discussion, I’ll be honest and say that I don’t know a great deal about the Sonic line of games. I don’t mind the Blue Blur either; having watched all of Sonic’s movies and seen all of their TV shows, I have eaten every one of Sonic’s goodies over the years. In short, I was a Mario kid first and foremost.

I won’t go into too much detail about what I went through in the base game, as Sonic Generations is one of the best Sonic titles out there. To sum up, it was really fun racing through Green Hill Zone and Chemical Plant’s Acts 1 & 2. I didn’t find any issues in Sonic’s performance whatsoever,er considering how fast-paced the game’s action is and its decent controls. Since the single campaign is the core of this new bundle, it seems logical to focus on the levels I’ve played in that.
