Technical features and lighting aside, it’s also the most handsome 3D game I have ever seen from Nihon Falcom, not only because of the technical aspects and the lighting, but also because the animation work is an insane glow-up when compared to their previous games on the PlayStation 3.

The fans of the series will know at once that the appearance is different from the original show, as it has been remade to be quite gigantic. While the original game would look relatively at home on the original PlayStation, this is a fully modern title presenting this story fully in 3D for the first time. The presentation on PS5 is excellent, with great animation, a lovely look, and an amazing framerate. It looks like a dream, and just how I imagined this world. It sounds fantastic, also for the most part. The music is so good and is being remastered, as already a favorite itself. This story, for the first time, gets its voice, and there’s much good.

Gameplay:

Actors for some of the newer “Legend of the Heroes” games. As usual, I have one problem here: the voice of Estelle. I love her character,r but can’t help but feel that her voice is not exactly the character’s voice. This is something that’s more my problem than the game’s, and the voice’s gotten a little better after the character takes a little longer to age up, but her character still isn’t quite settled on me yet, et in part due to the voice. I would hope that’s going to change soon so that everyone can get to see the very start of the series with gorgeous new graphics and an unprecedented level of combat. Bloodshore Switch NSP

Compared to most other RPGs, Trails in the Sky is a much smaller-scale game. It sets the pace for travelling to various towns, doing jobs, and discovering secrets, all within the context of a playful journey of learning and friendship, not political crises and possible world-ending threats. Will that ‘small-town’ atmosphere be lost in the ‘big and bright’ rendition of the original game? But as Falcom is so far not a AAA developer, it was more a dream than anything else; a wonderful dream to live in from time to time.

• Hybrid Battle System: The complete remake includes seamless transition from field actions to turn-based battle, and combines special abilities (Crafts) with elemental magic (Arts).
• The Quartz System: Players will have the option to slot in special “Quartz” to modify character stats, unlock new spells, and receive elemental buffs.
• Tactical Positioning: Combat occurs on a grid with character placement, attack range, and AoE (Area of Effect) spells all playing a major role in being victorious.
