Description:

Shardpunk: Set against the backdrop of the ruins of a once-mighty Victorian city, now overrun with vermin by the Rat Swarm, an unstoppable horde that has flooded the streets. The atmosphere is thick with decay and urgency, as towering steampunk architecture looms.

The levels are carefully structured in a grid fashion to provide a reward for spatial awareness and careful planning, and the open spaces function as escape routes and ambush points against the Rat Swarm attackers. They are a motley crew, with each player having his own abilities, equipment, and perks which, depending on his choice, complement or conflict with one another, creating strategies beyond combat.

Shardpunk NSP Gameplay:

Players will be thrust into a dystopian steampunk world where the Rat Swarm has broken through the walls of the Capitol and has flooded this city with a tide of vermin. The objective of the game is to make it to fusion-core bunkers in time, and within each district, players must find a way to gather a group of survivors from increasingly dangerous conditions with ever-dwindling resources.

Combat is systematic but severe; weapons and bots must be cared for regularly to prevent malfunctions,s and the player must take care of his/her weapons as much as he or she takes care of his/her crew. The game’s steampunk aesthetic is carried over into the gameplay; fusion-core tech is used as a power source and story element.

• Tactical Depth: A blend of XCOM-style grid-based combat and Darkest Dungeon-style pressure and stress!
• A Motley Crew: Run a team of survivors with different strengths, privileges, gear, and weaknesses that affect how they interact with others on their crew.
• Steampunk Arsenal & Overheating: Assemble, repair, and cool your weapons and bots. If you fight too hard, it will come back at you in the middle of the battle.
• Make difficult moral decisions: Who gets the last medpack, ration, upgrade? Every choice made, from what you leave behind to how you spend the resources in the bunker, has significant consequences.
