Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth is a 2021 metroidvania video game developed by Team Ladybug and co-published by Playism and Why so serious? WSS Playground is a Microsoft Windows application that enables the testing of WSS. There were also versions for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It is based on the Record of Lodoss War series, which takes place before the events of The Crown of the Covenant.

The idea for Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth came up when Playism was approached by an editor of the eponymous novels. Under Mizuno’s supervision, Playism decided to go with the project after seeing that both the material and artwork of Team Well Ladybug went together. The game takes inspiration from Symphony of the Night and Ikaruga, and was created with both level and gameplay in mind to reflect its story concept of exploration. The title was first launched via Steam Early Access before 2020 prior to 2020, and received several updates through 2020 and 2021, which introduced new stages, gameplay adjustments,s and game modes.

Gameplay:

In this Record of Lodoss War game, the player takes control of the high elf character Deedlit, while exploring a bizarre labyrinth lined with the game’s enemies and companions, collecting power-ups and magic, and slaying enemies and bosses, with the ability to backtrack and unlock previously inaccessible sections of the game.

The game also userole-playingng games: an inventory screen, HP (health level) to measure the amount of damage Deedlit can take before dying, increasing ability by collecting L containers,d decreasing ability by switching between the two elemental spirits at their max level, and Magic points (MP) to determine how often a magical attack can be cast.

Key Features:

• Elemental Spirit System: Change Deedlit’s attributes by swapping between “Sylph (wind)” and “Salamander (fire)” powers.
• Sword and Bow Combat: Easily alternate between powerful melee and ranged archery. The bow is particularly helpful for solving environmental puzzles and try-out-of-reach switches.
• Swappable Equipment & Ghim’s Shop: Pick up and use a myriad of swords and bows scattered around by enemies or recovered from secret areas. The dwarf Ghim has an in-game shop where you can sell your unwanted items.
• Classic Metroidvania Movement: Explore a dark, ever-changing maze making use of familiar skills such as double-jumping, sliding, back-stepping,back-steppi, ng and limited flight.
• Mini-games and Extras: Step aside from the usual gameplay and explore in-game mini-games such as archery or dice games. Once fully finished, players get to play in a Boss Rush and detailed stat tracking achievements.
