We enter the shoes of Nikos, who lost his environmentalist parents when they protested before the game’s events. As the planet grows uninhabitable, Nikos develops a plan to get off the planet. The setting alone can elicit a discussion about climate change and our continued lack of concerted action, but almost all of the collectibles and ancillary reading are about politicians dismissing worries about climate disaster, corporations and profit over people, and the parallels to headlines that we see in real life. While The Cub and GC:N are somewhat simpler in their mechanical aspects, Highwater is another quick jaunt that will only take a few hours to run.
