About This Game
Description:
Pocket Bravery NSP basic system is composed of four dedicated buttons (Light Punch, Heavy Punch, Light Kick, Heavy Kick). There are some command normals/target combos available for each character and there are even some “close” (i.e. proximity normal) versions of some of the buttons with different properties as well. Special moves is using a regular motion (fireball, dragon punch, half circle, 360), and another button. Much as its main source of inspirations, Pocket Bravery is mostly link-based: Normal moves cannot normally.
However, normal moves can be canceled into command normals and both can be — with some exception — be canceled into special, EX and super moves. The combos are therefore typically short, and are usually a sequence of normal normal command normal special move. EX moves can be used as combo extenders, but the damage is quite harsh. Grabs are performed by pressing Light Punch and Light Kick together.
Gameplay:
A super move is a move that uses a super gauge, which can be stored for up to three stocks. Each super uses up one stock, and is usually triggered by performing a more complex motion followed by one or two buttons pressed together. Each special move can be used to cancel into supers for an additional ½ bar increasing the cost but also the potential damage of a combo. Notice that, I haven’t said a lot about EX moves/
It also influenced the games of Pocket Fighter and other fighting games produced by Neo Geo Pocket Color. But make no mistake, Pocket Bravery was created to be a new and unique fighting game, with original characters, vibrant colors and a combat system that will impress you, since the game was designed with the focus on high level players. Despite that it has some qualities that will teach novice players
