Shadow Rift Feral Strike NSP Wraith’s movement is fluid and predatory, intuitive and powerful. The parkour system isn’t as much about using a lot of buttons, and more about momentum and flow. To climb up a building, simply hold down a button and watch as your character gracefully climbs, leaps between ledges and swings from pipes with the easy agility of a panther. Not the serious, serious, serious parkour of a Mirror’s Edge, but a power fantasy, a celebration of unobstructed movement, getting from place to place is a pleasure.

This is not a movement for show, it’s a movement that’s part of the action. You’ll have the titular Feral Strike as your main weapon—a lightning bolt quick dash that hones in on enemies and lets you close in in a flash. This single mechanic makes all interactions three-dimensional ballet movements of death. There is no stillness in you. The conflict may start with you shooting from a perch, Feral Striking a sniper.

Gameplay:

A relentless tempo of selecting targets, darting around and using the environment as an aliby and a protection. The combat mechanics are deceivingly complex. It looks at first glance as though it’s a simple ‘attack and dash’ game, but this soon shows tactical flavour. There are different kinds of enemies and different strategies for dealing with them. You have to attack blind foes, or those hidden behind the other players.

Secondary tool and your Feral abilities are in perfect balance. Every weapon from a quick energy claw to a one-shot heavy duster railgun should be used in a different manner, and adds a different kind of synergy with your dash. The game is mission-driven and follows you around the map to different unique environments, ranging from the neon-lit streets of a cyberpunk metropolis to decaying, overgrown ruins of ancient temples.
