Description:

Sky Revolver is a great up and down vertical shooter (shoo-umper), in which you must use your skill and reflexes to eliminate all enemies and skillfully avoid all projectiles that come your way. The first thing you’ll notice is that it is not just like most shumps, but it has an auto fire feature. You have automatic fire for your default weapon and can concentrate on moving to position yourself to shoot or avoid projectiles.

As you go through each level you will also find your own base from where you may collect additional bonuses like extra lives (yes, you can die from only one hit), extra rockets, temporary invincibility, and more. They will be in your inventory when you buy them, and you can use whichever perks you selected; except for the extra lives or rockets. You’ll spawn automatically with temporary invincibility giving you a chance to breath.

Gameplay:

Sky Revolver looks great as a whole. No reinventing the wheel by visuals, it’s a space shooter. Not bad diversity of opponents and boss fights are fairly well-balanced and considered. You will be on the battlefield either in space or above ground. The soundtrack is a generic mash up of rock and electronic music; it’s fine. It performs as it should, but not so sweet that you’ll be singing it while you’re not playing it.

You’ll also be able to find some temporary bonuses like lasers and better weaponry like with other games of the genre. They will go out of date in no time, so make sure to utilize them wisely and efficiently. Your ship is also equipped with rockets and a shield. The rockets can be used to fire a volley of heat-seeking missiles to provide additional assistance, and the shield can deflect enemy bullets for a short time. Both have a cooldown period, though, and can’t be used at will.

• Massive Campaign: Attempt more than 50 different and diverse levels, some with fast-moving scouts, others with large, multi-phase boss warships.
