Slave Zero X is a classic beat them up 2D side-scrolling game. It’s forward-moving and will feature frantic life-or-death melee combat, similar to traditional 2D fighting games. In its DNA, there’s also a bit of Shinobi and Strider.

You have a simple 33-hitlight combo and a heavy attack that can be charged up for combos. This is where Slave Zero X gets interesting, as you’re incentivized to develop your enemy destruction skills by chaining together rapid combos and relentlessly attacking.

Some of the more elaborate and subtle systems of defeating relentless foes are not fully explained in Slave Zero X. This can be very frustrating for new players. For instance, if timed correctly, your dash ability can help you avoid attacks. These techniques require a great deal of timing accuracy to accomplish. The game does not teach you the most important technique – the “Golden Circle.” It combines two abilities: continuous attacking and effective defense. If utilized correctly, you can maintain combos and keep attacking non-stop.

• Killer Combos & Aerial Combat: Combine lethal attacks with the use of sharp sword play, dashing, air juggling, wall jumping, and explosive ordnance to dispatch hordes of metal and meat.
• Deep Combat Mechanics: Combat is reminiscent of a classic 2D fighting game. Features directional combo inputs and evasive dashes, as well as a tough parity system like in Street Fighter: Third Strike.
• Fatal Sync & Burst Pulse: Allows players to boost their attack power in the “Fatal Sync” mode, for bloodier combos and health recovery. A “Burst” pulse is included to repel attacking enemies when swarmed. H.R.
